Two to five years
- The program starts in October 2020.
- The Guy S. Goodwin-Gill Scholarship will be valid for the maximum period of registration for the program.

Applicants for the Guy S. Goodwin-Gill scholarship must satisfy all of the following:
- You hold an offer to study the MA Refugee Protection and Forced Migration Studies for the October intake.
- You cannot accept this offer without financial support.
- You are able to demonstrate outstanding academic merit or potential (particularly by your achievements).
- The Guy S. Goodwin-Gill Scholarship may be awarded in addition to other scholarships and funding, but it cannot be used in conjunction with any other University of London bursary or scholarships.
- Students are required to write a short report at the end of each study year outlining the impact of your study and research. Failure to comply may result in the scholarship being withdrawn.
Notes:
- Applications are welcomed especially from candidates based in low / middle-income countries.
- The current University of London students or former applicants for this scholarship (or the Sadako Ogata award) are not eligible to apply.

- A fee-waiver award of £8,220 covering the course tuition fees.
- The Guy S. Goodwin-Gill scholarship does not cover examination center costs and any other costs not directly payable to the University (such as the purchase of additional materials or electronic equipment), resubmission fees, payment of further elective modules if you decide to transfer.

First Step: Prepare the following documents:
- A letter of academic merit or potential (up to 500 words) outlining how you meet the criteria of ‘outstanding academic merit or potential in the field of study, evidenced particularly by past achievements’. This may include such factors as achievements in earlier studies undertaken (grades, prizes, etc.), other contributions to the wider academic field (research, publications, etc.), and relevant past, current, and envisaged future professional work with refugees and displaced populations showing academic potential.
- A motivation letter (up to 500 words) outlining your motivation in applying to this scholarship.
- A CV
- A letter of financial circumstances (up to 500 words) explaining your financial circumstances and why receiving this scholarship would be important for you.
Second Step: Apply for admission to the MA program.
Third Step: Apply to the scholarship by completing the application form and submit with your CV to [email protected].
