EU Delegation to Egypt Funded Traineeship 2019 for young Graduates:

The Delegation of the EU to Egypt offers paid traineeships to young graduates with a university diploma and less than one year of professional experience. Are you a young graduate interested in international relations? Are you curious to learn more about work of a diplomatic mission and how the EU Delegation represents EU interests and values in Egypt?

More Details

A traineeship of up to 6 months within the Human Rights Team (of the Political Section) of the EU Delegation to Egypt, starting August 2019.

Main tasks:

  • Assisting in monitoring developments in the field human rights and democracy in Egypt, including information management, preparation of written reports, note-taking in meetings and drafting of minutes, participating/reporting on various seminars and conferences.
  • Assisting preparation of high-level visits from the EU headquarters, including input to briefings and agenda.

Required Languages

English and Arabic (an advantage).

Eligible Countries

Egypt, Cyprus, Turkey & Other Countries are not from the middle east and north Africa.

Program Period

6 months.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

Applicant must be:

  • Excellent background in political science and/or international relations, or a very strong proven capacity for one of those above mentioned fields.
  • Preferably specific knowledge of Egypt’s current domestic, regional, and foreign policy issues.
  • Fluency in English is required, Knowledge of Arabic would be an advantage in widening the scope of the tasks assigned to the intern.
  • Young graduates.
  • Have at least a Bachelor Diploma.
  • Maximum one year of professional experience.
  • No previous experience in the EU Institutions longer than 6 weeks.
  • Citizens of the host country, nationals from the EU Member States or pre-accession States.

Opportunity Cost

The applicant will receive a monthly grant to cover living expenses.

Note: Applicant must cover by him self All costs related to travel inside the country of residence, visa, insurance, accommodation.
