UNFCCC-GIR-CASTT Programme on Greenhouse Gases

UNFCCC-GIR-CASTT is a professional training on greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories to national experts from developing countriesthe GIR serves as a think-tank on GHG inventory and mitigation. The GIR compiles national GHG inventory, supports establishing national and sectoral GHG reduction targets, and conducts research on the Korean Emissions Trading System.

Since 2017, 58 trainees from 54 countries have successfully completed and they are contributing lessons learned from the training programme to their home countries to enhance their national capability responding to climate change.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  •  Current government officials, consultant and researchers
  • Relevant experience in GHGs or climate change response-related field
  • Entry-mid level professionals
  •  Bachelor’s degree or higher
  •  Capability to understand lectures and give presentations in English (Candidates may be administered an English test via phone)
  •  Individuals with an intermediate IT proficiency
