Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • Applied for any full time program offered by Birkbeck, starting in October 2020.
  • Scholarship will not be held in conjunction with any other full scholarships (e.g. Chevening).
  • You must complete payment of the £2000 non refundable deposit within two weeks of being selected for the scholarship.
  • Please note that applications will be assessed and processed as a first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, you are advised to apply as soon as possible.

Opportunity Cost

(Partially Funded)

  • £4000 (tuition fee only, first year only) or,
  • £2000 (tuition fee only, first year only) or,
  • £1500 (tuition fee only, first year only) or,
  • £1000 (tuition fee only, first year only).

How to Apply

First Step: 

Check the General Entry Requirements:

  • You have to check the equivalencies for your qualifications according to your country.
  • If you do not know the equivalence of your qualifications, make an application and include as much information as possible about your qualification.
  • These are the general English language entry requirements. But it is very important that you carefully check the entry requirements for your chosen course
    • IELTS (Academic): 6.5, with 6.0 in each section.
    • TOEFL (Internet Based Test): 79.
    • Pearson Test of English (Academic): 62 with 60 in each section.
    • Cambridge C1 Advanced: 176, with 169 in each section.
    • Cambridge C2 Proficiency: 176, with 169 in each section.

Second Step:

Then apply for full time undergraduate courses via UCAS.

  • You must first register. Once you have completed the registration, a username will be automatically generated. You will be asked to create a password. Please make a note of these details as you will need them to log back in to your application later.
  • Then complete all the sections listed to the left where a red tick will appear next to each completed section.

Third Step:

Once you have received an unconditional offer from Birkbeck for your chosen program, you will be asked to fill in the Birkbeck International Scholarship application form.
