Vice-Chancellor’s scholarships 2019/20 – University of York
We are pleased to offer five Vice-Chancellor’s scholarships for exceptional undergraduate taught students. These prestigious scholarships aim to reward and encourage exceptionally high-achieving students by offering a tuition fee discount.

Criteria for University:
- Before you apply, you should check the specific grade and subject requirements of the course you are considering, as well as any additional requirements such as work experience or submission of written work.
- If you’re a non-native English speaking applicant you must provide evidence of your English language ability. To know the English Language requirments, click here.
- Check here the typical academic qualifications and requirements that they would normally consider.
Criteria for Scholarship:
- Eligible Students must be expected to achieve AAA at A Level, or 36 points in the IB (or international equivalents).
- Eligible Students must have a conditional or unconditional offer to study at the University of York by the 30 April 2019 .
- Eligible Students must be paying fees at the overseas fee rate (any fee assessments must be complete by the 30 April 2019).
- Eligible Students must be intending on studying a full-time undergraduate taught course based on the University of York campus.
- Eligible Students must have already met the English Language requirements of their offer (by 30 April 2019).

- Five undergraduate scholarships offering a £5,000 tuition fee discount for each year of study, up to three years.
Note: Applicants cannot hold a 100% tuition fee scholarship or be fully sponsored.

First Step: Apply for the university:
- Choose your course.
- Check the entry requirements.
- Apply via UCAS.
*Before you can apply you must first register.
*After registering, complete applying through the list that will appear after you log in. In that list, you will be asked:
- For Personal details.
- To read details about international students.
- To choose the university and the course.
- To submit your school/college/centre and your qualifications.
- If available: to give the names and addresses of your most recent employers.
- To write a person statement. (Your completed statement must be between 1,000 and 4,000 characters (maximum 47 lines) including spaces).
- To give referee details, so we can send an email to the referee that you put his/her details asking him/her to write a reference for you and, if you have pending qualifications, to also provide predicted grades.
- To give Date(s) when you are unavailable for interview.
*After completing the list, You have to pay 18 GBP to send your application to the university.
Second Step: Apply for the scholarship:

- Tell why you want to study the degree you have received an offer for, and how studying this course will enable you to progress in your career/academic pursuits. 1500 character limit (approximately 250 words).
- Tell why you are a strong candidate for this scholarship and include any information that would help assess your application (e.g. relevant work experience, other interests). 2000 character limit (approximately 300 words).
- Tell how this funding would benefit your studies at York, and if you don’t receive this scholarship how you will pay your tuition fees and living costs. 1500 character limit (approximately 250 words).
