Criteria of the University:
- You need to achieve a certain level of English to qualify for a place on your chosen course. Each course specifies one of six language profiles, which is the level of English required for entry on to that particular course if English is not your first language.
- Entry requirements vary for each course and country so please check the course listings for details of specific entry requirements and choose your country requirements.
Criteria of the Scholarship:
- You have to be classed as an overseas student for fee purposes.
- You have to be applied to start a full-time undergraduate degree in one of the qualifying course at the University of Bristol in September 2019.

The following awards are available to Undergraduate Students for September 2019 entry:
- 3 x £10,000 scholarships
- 9 x £5,000 scholarships
The awards can only be used as fee waivers towards the cost of tuition fees.

First Step: You can apply through either UCAS or Common Application.
- For Engineering Design, you must apply using UCAS.
- You can use Common App to apply for any full-time undergraduate course at Bristol, except Engineering Design.
Second Step:
– To Apply through UCAS.
- Register here.
- After registering, complete applying through the list that will appear after you log in. In that list, you will be asked:
- For Personal details.
- To read details about international students.
- To choose the university and the course.
- To submit your school/college/centre and your qualifications.
- If available: to give the names and addresses of your most recent employers.
- To write a person statement. (Your completed statement must be between 1,000 and 4,000 characters (maximum 47 lines) including spaces)
- To give referee details, so they can send an email to the referee that you put his/her details asking him/her to write a reference for you and, if you have pending qualifications, to also provide predicted grades.
- To give Date(s) when you is unavailable for interview.
- After completing the list, You have to pay 18 GBP to send your application to the university.
– To Apply through Common App.

- Search for the University in My College Tab..
- Answer application questions on the Common App tab, which include the following:
- Profile: fill your personal information, contact details, citizenship, and etc….
- Family: fill your household information.
- Education: fill information about your secondary school, universities (if applicable), honors, and courses.
- Tests Taken
- Activities
- Writing: Write a personal statment ( about “What do you want the readers of your application to know about you apart from courses, grades, and test scores?” and choose the option that best helps you answer that question and write an essay of no more than 650 words, using the prompt to inspire and structure your response. The application won’t accept a response shorter than 250 words.) and any Additional Information.
- Check the requirements of the university to fill Search College Tab.
Third Step: Submit an application for the Think Big Postgraduate Scholarship, which you have to do the following:
- Select how you applied to study at the University of Bristol (UCAS or Common Application)
- Fill your personal information
- There are three questions which you will need to complete. The maximum word count for each question is 200 words. The questions are:
- We are looking to support the brightest and best individuals who will actively contribute to the development of their nation in the future. Please describe any special attributes or accomplishments that you think make you deserving of a Think Big scholarship.
- We are looking for scholars who will be great ambassadors for the University. Please give an example of when you have recently contributed to your community?
- We would like to support students who have clear goals for their future. Please explain how studying your chosen programme at the University of Bristol will help you to ‘Think Big’ and shape your plans after graduation?
