President’s Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme

This is a postgraduate scholarship that enables international students to get a chance to study in University of Leicester, England.

More Details

President’s Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme at the University of Leicester provides £3,500 in the form of a reduction in tuition fees each year for 50 students. There will be two deadlines during the year:

  • 30 March 2018 if you receive your offer to study with them before 10 March 2018.
  • 31 July 2018 if you receive your offer to study with them after 10 March 2018.

Program Period

It depends on your chosen course. In general, It’s between 1 to 2 years.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • You aren’t from an EU country.
  • You must already have an offer to study at the University of Leicester when you apply for this scholarship.
  • You are able to receive only one University scholarship.
  • You meet the school admission requirements.

Opportunity Cost

(Partially Funded)

If you are accepted, you will get a £3,500 in a form of reduction in tuition fees. And If you are unsuccessful, you will automatically be considered for a Head of College Scholarship, worth £2500.

Note:Please note that annual tuition fees range from £15,405 – £19,705 according to your degree programme. We recommend that you should allow a minimum of £900-950 per month for living expenses, including accommodation

How to Apply

  • First step: You must already have an offer to study at the University of Leicester when you apply for this scholarship. To apply for one of the University of Leicester courses, please visit the relevant course page and select ‘Apply Now’. You need to gather these documents to apply:

1-Academic qualifications and transcripts
2-Personal statement/research proposal
3-Two completed references (one must be academic) OR names and contact details of two people from whom we can request references (one must be an academic referee).
4-Proof of English language competency (if your first language is not English) Note:Every course require different level of English language competency.

  • Second step: If you got an offer, please include your 9 digit University of Leicester Student ID on the application form. You will be issued with this number when they make you an offer.
  • Third step: Make sure that you answer all the questions on the application form.
  • Fourth step: Ensure that you have included all of the following documents along with your completed application form:
    • Copies of your certificates and transcripts from all of your previous programmes of study (school leaving qualifications and any university-level programmes).  This should be in English.
    • A personal statement of a maximum of 400 words, detailing academic performance, the ranking of any University that you have attended, and your personal ranking compared with other students in your class (if possible).
  • Fifth step: Send your completed application by email to scholarships@le.ac.uk.
