Coventry University has a long tradition as a provider of education. Our roots go as far back as Coventry College of Design in 1843. It was in 1970 that Coventry College of Art amalgamated with Lanchester College of Technology and Rugby College of Engineering Technology.

A taste of university life
To prepare you for university-level study in the UK, we will introduce you to the style of teaching and learning that you will experience when you progress to your degree. You will learn via one-to-one tutorials, small seminars and as part of larger lecture groups. During your time at the International Study Centre, we will help you to build a strong network within Coventry University London too. You will meet with University staff during a special induction and take part in taster sessions hosted at Coventry University London.
Our study centre
Our degree preparation programmes are delivered at our own specialist International Study Centre, the perfect introduction to student life in London. You will learn alongside other like-minded international students preparing for business-focused degree study at Coventry University London. As well as studying at our well-equipped centre, you’ll also have access to the University’s new third floor facilities, including the library, student lounge and study areas.

In the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, almost two-thirds of our submitted research was rated as international, internationally excellent, or world-leading standard. We are continuing to build on this success in collaboration with businesses, external funders, students and the wider community. We have entered a range of research to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014, view our set of extremely positive REF results and further information about our submission.
As part of our work during REF2014, our Grand Challenge Initiatives focused our research efforts on seven key global issues which explored the following; Sustainable Agriculture, an Aging Society, Low Carbon Vehicles, Integrated Transport and Logistics, Low Impact Building, Digital Media and Human Security.

Talent Team
At Coventry University London, our Talent Team endeavour to help you get the best start to your career. Employability is woven into all of our courses, with interactive projects giving you the chance to practice real life business situations.
We work closely with leading organisations to provide placements for our students. Past students have undertaken placements at The Ritz London, Premier Inn, Bloomberg, Gensis Oil and Gas Ltd. and City Cruises.

High Flyers and Get Ahead programmes
The programmes are an opportunity for students studying at both undergraduate and postgraduate level to develop self-awareness, self-promotion and business awareness amongst other skills. Previous students have had the opportunity to participate in networking sessions in the financial hub of Canary Wharf and have attended a Business Awards Ceremony at the Tower of London.
Synergy Business Challenge
The Challenge takes the form of the famous TV show “Dragon’s Den”, with teams of students battling it out with their business ideas to compete to become the winner. The teams co-ordinate and host a variety of student social events and other money making business ventures, before presenting to a panel of judges that evaluates teams on their overall performance and profits raised.
Entrepreneur Society
Students have formed their own society to participate in business ventures outside of the classroom. Past events have included hosting a Coventry University London Summer Ball, through securing funds from local businesses including chain restaurant Wahaca, and designing and selling university branded merchandise.
Guest Lectures
Coventry University London works with a number of high profile and local employers who frequently deliver guest lectures on campus. All students have the opportunity to attend these additional lectures and to put their questions to employers. This is a great insight into how companies work and the skills they look for in graduates.

Student Engagement Centre (SEC)
The Student Engagement Centre has a team of trained Customer Service Advisers (CSAs) who are here to support the students during their time at Coventry University. The CSAs are here to help and ensure that students have the best opportunities to succeed in their studies by giving them advice and guidance when needed.
Email us at the International Talent Team at to tell us you have secured a placement. Please provide us with as much detail as possible, including the name of the company, the proposed dates of your internship and any other information you think may be useful.
You’ll then need to complete an application form via InPlace including the self-placement assessment part, which your academic tutor or course director must sign off. Please complete this form correctly and with as much information as possible, as we can reject your application if it doesn’t have the information we need.

Chapter Spitalfields
This 33-storey residence is located in fashionable and trendy Spitalfields and offers modern living with breath taking views of the City’s incredible skyline. Located directly opposite Coventry University London, Chapter Spitalfields is a great base for your time as a student. This is a University managed property which means that deposits and rent payments are made directly to the University.
Bronze Studio Flat
Our Bronze Studios have en suite bathrooms, a private kitchen, compact hypnos double bed, study space and free superfast broadband. Sizes range from 9-15 sq m.
Two Bed Apartment
Our two bedroom apartments have compact hypnos double beds, study space, shared kitchen and bathroom and free superfast broadband. Sizes range from 9-12 sq m.

IT Services aim to provide and support a range of information delivery, computing, and telecommunications-based services which will further the aims and objectives of the University and in particular enhance the educational environment for students and assist staff at all levels in fulfilling their roles and responsibilities.
Coventry University has more than 4,000 student PCs on site and the campus is fully Wi-Fi enabled, with PC open access rooms and tech-enabled lecture theatres.
Health and Medical Care
Registering with a doctor
You will need to register with a doctor (GP), taking your passport, evidence that you are a student, and proof of your UK address.

You will be eligible for free NHS consultation or treatment if:

The Medical Centre
Whilst studying in Coventry, all students need to register with a medical doctor (GP/General Practitioner) as soon as possible, to ensure they receive adequate healthcare.
The Medical Centre hold special sessions during induction week to complete medical registration quickly and efficiently. Registration is easy and can be completed online.
The University’s Medical Centre has a team of independent doctors, both male and female. As well as a team of nurses to provide a daily medical support service for all students.
The Medical Centre is open Monday to Friday during term time. Opening hours can be found on the website.
Students who are registered with the Medical Centre can also access all services at Engleton House Surgery (the main branch) in Radford.
Welcome to Coventry University London
The City of London is a great place to be a student, and we look forward to your arrival.
We know that there’s a lot to organise before you get here, and that you’ll probably have a few questions about what to expect from student life.
It’s almost time for you to join us and we want to make sure your first weeks go smoothly. If you are a new student, you will have a comprehensive online induction before you begin your study in January. Returning students will also be able to access the induction, and will receive communications via email to provide an update of all the information needed before the start of the semester.
We are fully committed to delivering as much on-campus learning and the widest university experience possible from January 2021. Based on current government guidelines, our London campus will be open to new students from 25th January.
We are committed to supporting every student – so expect a welcome call from our dedicated Student Engagement Team who can help you stay on track to achieve success.

Sport and Recreation Centre
At Coventry Sport and Recreation Centre we have a substantial number of group exercise classes as part of our Active Life program.
With a range of both instructor-led and virtual classes, we offer cardio and toning classes such as Active Pump, HIIT, Cycle, TRX, to dance fitness and flexibility programs such as Zumba and Yoga. We present something for everyone, for all levels and abilities.
Our team support members in taking part in physical activity and regular exercise and host a range of competitions and tournaments suitable for all levels of fitness.
