Virtual Reality in education
As Haliç University, we are improving the quality of education by integrating the factor of virtual reality into education with the right systems. We increase productivity with virtual reality applications that will especially be used for courses requiring observation and interaction. Surgical simulation for Medicine students, navigating places for students of Architecture and creating virtual prototypes for Engineering students are among some examples of things that we can accomplish.

Haliç University is a foundation university founded by Bizim Lösemili Çocuklar Vakfı (The Foundation for Our Children with Leukemia) pursuant to the Higher Education Law No. 2547 and has started to provide education on November 23, 1998.
Along with its six Faculties, three Vocational Schools, Conservatory and Graduate Institute; our University is a leading foundation university of Turkey, which pursues its education and research mission on a wide spectrum including health, engineering, architecture, sports and art since 1998.
Centering upon design and creativity, our University has a priority to raise eligible individuals, who can deliver solutions by looking from different perspectives. Halic University has adopted a mission which aims to invest in the future of Turkey, supporting entrepreneurship, providing contributions that will result in a great impact in the fields of science, art and technology production. With its educational quality and institutional reputation, it has a vision to be a branded and referenced university both nationally and internationally.
In accordance with the law no. 5188 at the campuses of Haliç University, it provides services within its own structure with its private security staff assigned by the Provincial Governorship. Private security officers, who are permanent and ready in our campuses, follow up with the camera system and carry out services on a 24/7 basis.
33 Private Security Officers provide service in total.
In Sutluce and Sishane Campuses;
Enter and exit service to the campuses is provided by the turnstile system, and the entrance and exit is made with the PDKS card pass system. Students, administrative and academic staff who do not have cards, present their identity cards to Private Security officers. They are allowed to enter to campuses after their identity records are checked from the Prolysis system.
Security service is provided with the controls of Private Security Officers. In our campuses, night security service is reinforced by tour control system.
There are plenty of options for accommodation in the city of Istanbul. According to your standards and preferences, you can easily filter through the options and find the most suitable home for you. As the international office, we make sure to guide our students when necessary and introduce them to dormitories nearby our campus.
There are many dormitories close to Haliç University that offer different facilities and services. You can reside in a dorm room either on your own or share a room with other students. Although it differs from dorm to dorm, you can share your room with up to 6 people.
Apart from dormitories, there are other options such as renting a house or a student residence. According to your wish, you can rent a house alone or with friends, furnished or unfurnished. For a comfortable daily routine, you can rent a house either near our university or near public transportation stations that have direct rides to our university. The most important thing to do while renting a house in Istanbul is to research about the transportation options near the house you are renting in order to have an easy lifestyle where you can commute easily throughout your day.
Student residences are similar to dorms but have minor differences such as the easy of not having entry or exit hours. Unlike dorms they don’t have restrictions and are more like personal apartments where the rent is combined with your other bills and expenses.
Overall, you should have no worries about accommodation while moving to Istanbul for studies for there are several alternatives that can fit every budget, every taste and every standard.
General Information about the Library
Haliç Üniversity libraries aim at providing all kinds of resources the students, academic and administrative staff need within their educational and research activities while acquiring the knowledge related to their profession and general culture, and serving them with update technical facilities.

Haliç University Library was opened to service in Mecidiyeköy Campus in the academic term 1998-1999 when the university first started the education. The library which was in service in Mecidiyeköy (1998) in the first years, and then started to serve in Fındıkzade (2003), Şişhane (2004) and Kağıthane (2013) campuses. Afterwards Haliç University Library, which later served on its campuses, has been serving in two libraries, Sütlüce and Şişhane libraries, as of 2015.
The books in our library is classified in open-shelf order; according to “Library of Congress Classification System’’. All the published resources available in the library collection can be scanned through the library catalogue.
Our libraries have computers assigned for the readers to scan. Besides, all the readers can access the library’s resources using their own computers.
The information resources available in the library are transferred to computer through “Yordam Kütüphane”, and technical services such as lending, borrowing, extension of borrowing period, reservation, provision, ordering, labelling and reader services are carried out through the program. Thus, all the procedures of users except borrowing can be done through library program. Users can find the resources settled with repect to subjects using the open shelf system or ask for help from the librarian. Lending books to users and return procedures are carried out withe the university ID cards belongs to students or academic staff.
Our full-time doctors, nurses and psychologists provide quality health services to our students. It is a medical room with some medical equipment and first aid materials used for the rest or supervision of patients.
Infirmary service is provided in all 3 campuses of our university. We have 1 physician and 3 nurses.
