Brief Early History
With more than 230 degree programs in 13 colleges, UCF provides an education for the future, today. Our award-winning faculty provide mentorship and cutting-edge educational experiences, and connect students to research and career opportunities around the world.
UCF researchers are committed to discovery and innovation. Each year, our researchers attract more than $200 million in grants, gifts and sponsored awards. But a dollar figure doesn’t tell the whole story. Research and scholarship are about the impact our work is having on our students, community, nation and around the globe. It’s about helping solve real-world problems that make a difference in people’s lives. In addition to supporting innovative research, we’re helping strengthen and diversify our local and state economy.

UCF Housing offers various shared suite and apartment-style floorplans. All UCF Housing communities come with the security and convenience of 24-hour staff support, furnished rooms, all utilities included (no utility caps), Wi-Fi, individual leases, and unbeatable locations.
First-year students are given preference for housing on the Orlando main campus. Students of all classifications, from first-year to graduate students, may apply for student housing located at the Rosen College Apartments, NorthView, or one of our affiliated housing options.
The UCF Libraries administers the John C. Hitt Library located at the heart of the main Orlando campus, as well as three branch libraries: the Curriculum Materials Center (CMC) located in the Education complex on the main Orlando campus; the Addition Financial Downtown Campus Library located at the Downtown campus; and the Universal Orlando Foundation Library also known as the Rosen Library located at the Rosen College of Hospitality Management campus.
As the main provider of information technology resources, our responsibilities include providing all telecommunications services (voice and data), enterprise administrative systems and support to the UCF community including:
UCF Student Health Services provides a variety of primary and specialty care services to help keep students at their optimum health. The Health Center is located on the Main Campus, and satellite clinics are located at the Rosen, Health Sciences, and Downtown campuses. Our services are designed with students’ needs in mind.
Main Campus
As UCF’s home since 1968, our 1,415-acre main campus in east Orlando is impressive in size and even bigger in potential. Modern facilities and state-of-the-art technology keep you connected to classwork and social communities, while 800 acres of woodlands, lakes and an arboretum help you reconnect with nature. Whether you’re inside a classroom or outside exploring, our campus is an exciting place to learn — and an easy place to love.
