Description

Educational work with children

Attigny is a town of 1200 inhabitants located in a rural area, in the department of Ardennes, next to the Belgian border. The volunteer will support to organize leisure activities for children in the town school.

More Details

The volunteer is expected to propose intercultural games and playful activities to children so as to raise their European awareness. The volunteers will also have the opportunity to work with the local non-profit organizations which in order to improve social links. There will be activity in the library and the volunteer will also work to ease the access of the leisure and services for dependent inhabitants of the town.

EGYPT, ALGERIA, CYPRUS, & OTHER COUNTRIES ARE NOT FROM THE MIDDLE EAST AND NORTH AFRICA.

Program Period

44 Weeks.

  • During the period 03 September 2019 to 03 July 2020.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • The volunteer should be with a positive attitude, open-minded and responsible.
  • The volunteer should enjoy the work with children, be ready to take initiatives and have a good capacity to adapt.
  • Basic knowledge of French is very helpful due to the fact that only a few people in the town speak a foreign language.
  • The volunteer should be willing to live in a rural environment and like to be in contact with nature.

Opportunity Cost

(Partially Funded)

-Scholarship covers:

  • Accomodation: The volunteer will have his own room in a fully equipped house that s/he will share together with other two EVS volunteers of Foyer la Baraudelle.
  • Food: During the first weeks volunteer will have meals together with his/her housemates and the staff of Foyer la Baraudelle. Afterward, money for food will be received.
  • Training during the project: 2 trainings (“on-arrival-training” and “mid-term-evaluation”).
