Take an influential step towards Egypt with real gender equality and zero malnourished citizens while building an awesome digital product to win a EGP500,000 prize.

Gender Equality and Zero Hunger are two Sustainable Development Goals (outlined by the United Nations) that RiseUp, Ministry of Social Solidarity and PepsiCo are inviting you to tackle with innovation and technology, in line with the Egypt 2030 vision. They are looking for the brightest minds of the new generation willing to build a digital solution (App, website, physical product) that makes this world a safer, healthier, and more equal place for all Egyptians. Teams will work on a digital solution such as an App, website, physical product, plug in, or an add-on feature to an existing system that tackles either Gender Equality OR Zero Hunger in Egypt.

Program Period

  • 13 April: The Info Session.
  • 18-20 April: The Hackathon.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • Coders, developers, techies, creatives, innovators, tech entrepreneurs, social entrepreneurs, and development enthusiasts.
  • Must be above 18 years to apply.
  • Available from the 18th-20th of April for the Hackathon.
  • Available on the 13th of April for the Info Session.
  • Employees of the organizing entities (RiseUp, PepsiCo, Ministry of Social Solidarity, United Nations) are not eligible to participate.
  • You can apply as an individual or a team.
  • Teams must include 1 techie to develop the digital solution.
  • Teams must be between 3-5 members.

Opportunity Cost


  • 1st Place: EGP500,000 granted by PepsiCo.
