Next Landmark Contest 2020 An Educational Garden in Fiorano Modenese

The Next Landmark Contest calls submissions from young architects and designers to take on the challenge of redeveloping external areas at a nursery school, focusing on inherent issues in quality of the space, the relationship between the individual and their surroundings, and urban regeneration.

The 2020 contest, entitled “An Educational Garden in Fiorano Modenese”, is aimed at a new generation of architects who graduated between 2010 and today. The winner will be announced in June 2020 and awarded a scholarship for a Master’s Degree in Sustainable Design at SOS – School of Sustainability, Bologna, Italy.

Program Period

  • The Award will reach their conclusion by June 5, 2020.
  • Results will be published on the website on June12, 2020.
  • The Award will publish a final report outlining the evaluation criteria and motivation in respect of the winning entry. The organizers reserve the right to publish all entries submitted, including creating a catalog of entries intended to encourage professionals and in the general interests of the community. 

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • The Next Landmark Contest is aimed at all young architects and designers who graduated from these disciplines between 2010 and the present day. Registration is free of charge and must be completed online.
  • 3 submission drawings containing plans, sections and elevations of your choice in pdf format, 1280 x 1024 pixels 300 dpi image resolution
  • 3 images of your choice as deemed necessary to best describe the proposal (rendered images, photographs of models, sketches, schedules, etc.) in jpeg format 1280 x 1024 pixels 72 dpi image resolution.
  •  Project summary in English (maximum 1800 characters)
  • The Originality of the design
  • Relationship between children and space
  • Functional, aesthetic and conceptual innovation
  • Technical and economic feasibility.
  • Designers are encouraged to take into account the predetermined budget available to implement the
    proposed works, which should not exceed 40,000 Euros.
