Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • Current university students and graduates of engineering, product design and industrial design.
  • Who want to work alone, or who studied something else but have a brilliant idea you want to share, you can still enter as part of a team.
  • Team leader must have studied one of the qualifying subjects, and all team members must be (or have been within the last four years) enrolled for at least one semester in an undergraduate or graduate programme.
  • Include any research you’ve done into manufacturing costs and retail prices.

 Design Requirements:

  • Sustainable design.
  • The design uses intelligent engineering principles.
  • Idea available to commercially viable.
  • Project have a technical viability.
  • Product that people will want and can manufacture at a reasonable price.
  • Need to communicate the significance of your invention, but also how the product was developed and how you reached your final design.

Opportunity Cost

(Award)

  • There is no application fee for participation.
  • The total award budget is £42,000 , which will be distributed between the below mentioned award categories։
  1. National winner:£2,000.
  2. International runners:£5,000.
  3. International winner:£30,000(and £5,000 for your university).

How to Apply

First Step: Register on website from here and upload documents proof that you’re a student or recent graduate in one of the qualifying subjects.

– Official documentation may include this:

  • Transcripts.
  • A signed letter from your professor or dean.
  • Dated class schedules.
  • Grade reports.

Second Step: Once registered, you’ll need to complete online form.

– A complete application for admission includes but NOT limited to:

  • Five images of the project, of up to 3MB each, including one feature image.
  • Early sketches.
  • CAD renderings.
  • Initial prototypes.
  • Image of the finished product (if you have one).
  • Videos less than 3 minutes long and show both the development process of the design and your prototype in action.
